Community Supported Agriculture
Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, consists of a community of individuals who pledge in advance to support a farm operation, agreeing to share in the anticipated seasonal start-up-costs. In return, the season’s harvest is distributed amongst participating members. In this way, the CSA becomes a partnership between growers and consumers, both of whom share the inherent benefits and risks of farming.
Best of What’s Around is primarily a CSA farm, with a steadily growing membership of individuals and families who want to reconnect with their food sources and take some of the industrialization out of eating.
Each farm structures their CSA in a different fashion, depending on the needs of the farm and the needs of its membership, so no two programs are exactly alike.
Please visit our 2008 CSA Season page to learn more about our program and what the farm has to offer.
